Good News!!

Marzi

Maddie

I just had to let you know that it appears we have found a perfect home for both of the kittens!!!!  We had a number of inquiries about Marzipan, few for Maddie, so we were worried that Maddie would be left behind.  It's impossible to explain to people how very sweet she is.  The fates were with us though!  A wonderful family from Ames expressed interest in both of them!  After many emails, and me doing some calling and research on their backgrounds and references, we decided they were capable and more than willing to take them both.  They will go to a home that has another mix Maine Coon who was adopted a couple of years ago, and who is gentle and likes other cats.  We are in the process of making arrangements to make the trade off within the next week.

I can't thank you enough for your help and guidance through this process!!!  I know I wouldn't have had the options that I did otherwise.  I have asked their adoptive family to make a donation to ARFS in lieu of an adoption fee.  I will keep you posted on the final outcome!

Good News!!

Bear was found by a concerned person, Randy, chained to a doghouse and not getting the time and care that he required.  This is how he spent the first year of his life.  Bear’s owners recognized that they could not give him the time or care required and surrendered him.  Randy fostered him and Bear began to flourish.  He gained 35 pounds and with ARFS help was neutered and vaccinated.  Randy worked on Bear’s social skills and he was ready to find a permanent home.
Through our PetFinder.com site, he found Chris and Brett.  With their children grown and a large fenced country property, Bear had at last found his ‘forever home’.  He goes for long runs with Chris daily and has started Obedience class.  He is one happy young dog!

Good News!!

The following is a quote from an ARFS officer.

"I got home last night and my husband says a former member of ARFS called  - she found a lost dog in her driveway that morning and has had it in the basement but cannot keep it any longer.  She called all her neighbors, etc with no luck.  So, I was dreading calling her back because I didn't have a solution for her.  My husband had asked if she had called the County Communications telephone number (527-4871) yet and she didn't seem to know about it.
So, I finally called and one of her 10-year-olds answered and said that the owner was picking up the dog right this minute.  County Communications came through.  The poor little dog had been gone since last Thursday and survived all the snow somehow."
